About

A Beaumont life of service, stages and stories.

Stephen “Doc” Watson has spent more than four decades helping people lead better, work together, and stay safe — with a generous dose of humor along the way.

Doc has been a resident of Beaumont, Texas since 1959. He graduated from Beaumont High School in 1968, where he served as president of both middle school and high school student governments and was a Texas 4A district debate champion. That same year he was elected YMCA Youth Governor of Texas and named one of the ten outstanding young people in Texas. He went on to study history and pre-law at Oral Roberts University, Lamar University and the University of Texas.

Professionally, Doc has owned and operated several businesses in both San Diego, California and Beaumont, Texas. He served as a vice president of lending in banking, spent a decade in retail as a customer relations coordinator and trainer, and worked for many years as a private consultant in team building, conflict management and customer relations.

Today he operates Certain To Win, speaking nationwide on winning strategies, team building, violence prevention and community security. He is a long-standing advocate for firearm safety and responsible ownership, and his monthly column Heat & Humanity has been published in the Beaumont Business Journal for many years.
